Community Engagement Officer - Grants & Funding $29-$34 per hour.

We want our community hub, Te Matapihi to be a vibrant welcoming space for locals, new residents, and visitors. A place for the community to find a great read, connect with others, learn a new skill, or access resources and support. Te Matapihi is also a place offering a first-rate venue for functions, meetings and performances.

As well as servicing the needs of our community and visitors, you will also be responsible for co-ordinating and supporting events at Te Matapihi, ensuring a high level of service is offered to those that use and book our fantastic venue as well as the administration of grants and funding for Council.

This is a permanent part time role working 5 hours per day Wednesday – Saturday.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a confident and empathetic person, with a passion for customer service. You can relate to abroad range of people, are confident with digital resources and computers, are professional and solutions focused.

He aha te mahi| What you will do

  • Offer a high level of service to visitors of Te Matapihi.
  • Administrate grants and funding and prepare reports for Council.
  • Assist in event planning tasks as required.
  • Update promotional material and web content and ensure it is accurate and easy to understand.
  • Maintain a sound knowledge and to actively promote all services of the District Libraries and Visitor Centres
  • Accurately process payments, memberships and service bookings, requests for service, other administrative procedures as required

Ko wai to Pukeka| What you will bring

  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience with event planning and/or venue coordination
  • Confident to operate AV / IT systems to support events
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent digital skills / confidently navigate your way in an online environment.
