We are on the lookout for a Group Manager Corporate Services to continue leading our corporate functions into the future. We have made some amazing progress in this space over the past few years, and we’re proud of our financial and information management excellence and the proactive technology solutions we offer Council and community. We’re looking for an experienced executive professional to continue leading a group of super stars to advance us even further in these areas.

You’ll be responsible for leading the finance and information management functions of Council. This includes leading the Corporate Services Group to deliver agreed organisational outcomes and strategies, along with legal / statutory requirements and risk mitigation.

This is a role that requires both executive level strategic thinking, and operational/technical know-how. The Group Manager Corporate Services will also be required to undertake a leadership role within Civil Defence Emergency Management response when required.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Marton.

He aha te mahi| What you will do

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and direction to the Corporate Services Group
  • Develop, lead and report on Council’s Long Term Plan, Annual Plan, financial management policies and strategies, Information Services Strategic Plan and other strategic frameworks
  • Provide expert advice on financial and information management to the Chief Executive, Executive Leadership Team, Mayor, Councillors and staff
  • Lead and support projects and initiatives that support financial and information management excellence
  • Actively participate as a member of Council’s Executive Leadership Team

Ko wai to Pukeka| What you will bring

  • Chartered Accountant with a tertiary qualification in finance / accounting
  • Demonstratable experience in an executive leadership role including leading senior managers
  • Strong financial / business acumen and a thorough understanding of economic principles
  • Knowledge and experience leading technology / information management strategies
  • Empowering, motivational leadership style
