He angitūtanga | The Opportunity

We are looking for someone to join our amazing Operations Team, to provide day-to-day delivery of water and wastewater treatment plant operations, to ensure the treatment plants are operated in a compliant, efficient and cost-effective manner.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator to hit the ground running. However, we are just as happy to bring someone on board (who is a team player with a strong work ethic) looking to start a career in the 3 waters industry as a cadet. All training will be provided.

This is a full-time permanent role and based at our Marton Treatment Plant, however, travel throughout the district will be required as part of your role.

He aha te mahi| What you will do

  • Assist with routine operations and maintenance of all treatment assets to eliminate plant failure
  • Undertake daily duties including record keeping, operating equipment and plant, to ensure that the treatment plant is operating efficiently
  • Participate in the on-call roster, responding to alarms and remote monitoring
  • Assist with analysis and reporting of results for compliance
  • Ensure relevant work programmes are delivered in an exemplary manner, to meet Council, Community and stakeholder expectations in terms of time, cost and quality

Ko wai to Pukeka| What you will bring

  • A National certificate in Water or Wastewater Treatment is preferred but not essential
  • A practical aptitude in mechanical and electrical skills
  • A strong team player with proven ability to work well with and interact successfully with other people
  • Competent in the use of computers and office software
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new technology and software in a continuously changing environment
