CouncilMARK Assessment
The purpose of the Local Government Excellence Programme (LGEP), and Council’s participation in it, was to have a credible, transparent framework within which Council’s performance could be benchmarked and improvement opportunities identified - and acted on. The framework incorporates a 9-point rating scale – from C to AAA. While the LGEP is about promoting excellence and driving continuous improvement within councils, it's also about demonstrating performance and improvement to residents, ratepayers and other stakeholders. All assessment reports, once finalised, are automatically released to the public/media by LGNZ.
