Marking Waitangi Day in your community
Every year on Waitangi Day, we take time to reflect on our shared history and the contributions of all cultures represented in Aotearoa New Zealand today, both tangata whenua and tangata tiriti. Waitangi Day commemorations bring us together to deepen and broaden our understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi/The Treaty of Waitangi.
There is up to $300,000 of funding will be available through Manatu Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage Commemorating Waitangi Day Fund (the Fund).
Grants are usually in the region of $5,000 - $10,000 and support events that commemorate the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and promote nation and community building.
For more information on the Fund criteria, please visit Commemorating Waitangi Day Fund.
