Bulls Bus Lane and Town Square

Project Complete

Work began in November 2021 to create a new bus lane behind Te Matapihi - Bulls Community Centre. The new bus lane replaced the old bus lane on Bridge St which was permanently closed on 27 May 2022.

As part of this project a new green space was created at the front of Te Matapihi to be used as a town square. This space has become a hub for the community and new lighting artwork is scheduled to be installed and unveiled late August.

Project Updates

Old Station Closing 27 May 2022

5 May 2022

The old Bulls bus station on Bridge Street will be permanently closed from Friday, 27 May 2022. From this date bus services will no longer operate from here.

Please check with your bus company who will advise you of the location for your bus pick up and drop off.

From Saturday, 28 May 2022 bus services will only operate from the new bus stop at Te Matapihi Bulls, Community Centre on Funnel Street.

17 March 2022

New Bus Lane in Bulls opening soon

We are pleased to advise that the new Bulls Bus lane is now complete and ready for use from Monday 21 March 2022

Please check with your bus company, they will advise you when to use the new bus lane for pick up and drop off.

The town square is also nearing completion with an expected finish date of Friday 1 April 2022. A blessing ceremony for the artwork will be held once it has been installed. An update on this will given closer to the time.

2 NOVEMBER 2021

Construction is about to start on the new Bulls Bus Lane and the Town Square (Green Space) at Te Matapihi - Bulls Community Centre. Contractors are moving to site and works are due to begin earlier November, with completion towards the end of February 2022.
