Closure of Council facilities across the District
March 23, 2020

With the impending Covid19 Alert 4 activation to take place nationwide at 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March. We have made the decision to close all Council facilities across the District, however essential services will continue. Here are the details:
Facilities / Services CLOSED until further notice
- Marton and Taihape Offices CLOSED
All enquiries: 0800 422 522 (24hrs), info@rangitikei.govt.nz - Marton, Taihape and Bulls Libraries CLOSED
Online E-books & E-magazines are still available
Public Wifi available outside library buildings
All enquiries: libraries@rangitikei.govt.nz - Marton, Taihape and Hunterville Pools CLOSED
- Bulls and Taihape Information Centres CLOSED
Bookings for essential travel can be booked online directly with the agency - Bulls and Taihape Youth Spaces CLOSED
- Building Inspections CLOSED
Processing and inspections will not take place until further notice. - All Playgrounds and Skateparks CLOSED
- All Community Halls CLOSED
- District Plan Change Hearing POSTPONED
Meeting scheduled for Monday, 30 May postponed until further notice - Council Meetings CANCELLED
All future meetings are postponed until further notice
Essential Services to CONTINUE
- Water Operations and maintenance OPEN
- Urgent Road Repairs OPEN
- Public Toilets OPEN
- Animal Control OPEN
Only for stock on roads, attacks on humans. Staff will also collect stray dogs if deemed to be a safety risk. Staff will not go into homes. Dog to be secured on property and staff will collect maintaining social distancing.

Will operate as normal - Kerbside Collections OPEN
Operated by private companies and will continue as normal. More information - Cemetery Services OPEN
- Social Housing OPEN
Contractors will only attend for urgent maintenance. Physical distancing (2m) will be required.

An official team of volunteers has been set up to help the elderly and vulnerable. More details will be available shortly.
With all essential services physical distancing, good hygiene is a must for the safety of our community and staff.
