Level One Water Restrictions implemented for Marton
January 28, 2020
Consumption of water in Marton has continued to be higher than what our treatment plant can supply. The message we put out over the last few weeks about conserving water did help in a small way, but given the warmer weather recently the Marton reservoir levels dropped.
From today Council is implementing water restrictions. The imposed are:
Level 1 - When the level at the town reservoir falls below 50% we will impose water restrictions, only allowing handheld hose watering of gardens between 4pm and 8pm, daily. There will be a complete ban on the use of sprinklers at any time of the day.
Given the weather forecast we are implementing Level 1 restrictions immediately.
Updates will given daily. Further restrictions will be implemented if necessary.
