Appeal to conserve water for Taihape residents

Recent high rainfall has made the water treatment at the Taihape Water Treatment Plant process more challenging.
With the river turbidity levels changing frequently at the Plant, this is hampering the ability to consistently make sufficient water to meet daily demand and fill the reservoir. We are also expecting more heavy rain this afternoon and evening.
We ask Taihape residents to conserve water for the next 48 hours (from Tuesday, 17 May) to give the reservoir a chance to refill.
We will provide an update if the water conservation request needs to be extended.
