Otara Bridge reopens on Thursday, 16 May to vehicles with a weight limit of 6 tonnes.The strengthening of the horizontal beams is now complete. The following restrictions remain in place:

• a weight limit of 6 tonnes
• a speed limit of 10km per hour
• one vehicle crossing the bridge at a time
• while crossing, vehicles are to travel central to the bridge.

You will still see work taking place as the 22 vertical hangers are analysed for signs of fatigue. As the structural analysis is done, the bridge will continue to be closed to heavy commercial vehicles.
