ANZAC Day Services 2025

ANZAC Day on 25th April is the opportunity to honour and remember those that have served in the armed services or supported the country during the First and Second World Wars, as well as subsequent events such as the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
For 2025, there will be three dawn parades taking place across the Rangitīkei District as well as other services.
The ANZAC services will take place as follows:
- Marton – Dawn Parade and Service – 5.40am outside BJW Motors, Wellington Road.
March off on the command of our Parade Marshall, to re-assemble on the forecourt of the Marton RSA & Citizens Memorial Hall by 5.55am.
This year, in response to public suggestions, the service will be relatively brief, with wreath-laying, but no official speeches.
The Ceremony will conclude around 6.25am, when all attending are cordially invited to join us inside the hall for a cuppa tea or traditional coffee, fruit juice etc, and light refreshments.
At 7.30am there will be a cooked breakfast available at Mad Tom's Restaurant, Lower High Street. All those who attended the Dawn Parade are welcome to join us for breakfast - $5 koha or donation.
Public are reminded to have at least a warm drink before leaving home, and to be prepared with warm clothing. - Marton - Mount View Cemetery - 9am
At 9am SHARP the Marton Scottish Band will performance at Mt View Cemetery.
Please allow plenty of time to parking (off-road parking). - Marton Cenotaph – 2pm – Wreath-laying ceremony at Marton Park.
Our ANZAC DAY Cenotaph Service will commence at 2pm in front of the WW1 Cenotaph in Marton Park. All are very welcome (Limited seating). - Taihape - Dawn Parade and Service
to be advised. - Turakina Cenotaph – 10am at Turakina School.
The Turakina ceremony commences at 10am at the Turakina School cenotaph followed by refreshments. - Bulls – Dawn Parade and Service – 6am at the Cenotaph
Dawn Parade, Fall in will be at 0545 outside the RSA on High Street, Dawn Service will be at 0600 at the Cenotaph.
Breakfast following the service at the RSA will be at 0715 - $10 per person. - Bess at Bulls – 9am up the hill at the Bess memorial on Forest Road - followed by refreshments at Flockhouse.

A wreath will be laid at the cenotaph around 10-11am and then the hall will be available for morning tea. Everyone welcome.
Marton RSA will be out in force for the Annual Poppy Appeal, commencing Monday 7th April through to Friday 11th April. Your donations will, as always, be appreciated!
