Help Save Water - January 2025
While our water levels are not critically low, we're asking everyone to make small changes to help save water!
January 22, 2025
It's understandable that water consumption has been quite high across the district. The summer weather is great, but reduced rainfall can put a strain on our water supplies.
There are some simple things will help us conserve water over the next few weeks, and hopefully reduce the possibility of water restrictions being needed. These things include:
- Use water outside in the evenings between 7-9pm every second night. If you live at an even number house, then water on an even day - and vice versa.
- Cut your shower down by two minutes
- Use a broom to sweep and clean your paths and driveways instead of a hose
- Fill your washing machine up to save electricity and water
- Keep a jug of water in the fridge to avoid running the tap to get cold drinking water
- Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth
The easiest way to conserve water is for us all to think about how we use it, and make small changes that collectively will have an impact.
