Road Closures/Damage - Northern Turakina Valley (TV3) and Watershed Roads

The weekend weather has resulted in damage to TV3 and Watershed Roads. TV3 is currently closed between Papanui Junction and Siberia Station due to a slip/cracks in the road.
Proposed Amendment to the Stock Droving and Grazing Bylaw 2013

Under the current Bylaw there is no provision restricting grazing on a road reserve directly adjacent to a property without the written permission of either the owner of the property adjacent to the road reserve which is proposed for grazing or an authorised owner of the Council. This proposed amendment address this issue.

Rangitīkei District Council has adopted the Proposed District Plan Change for rezoning of approximately 217 ha of rural land at 1165, 1151 and 1091 State Highway 1, Marton.

Nominations for the Rangitikei District Council elections closed at midday today. As there were no other Mayoral nominations Andy Watson retains his position of Mayor of the Rangitikei District for the next three years.
