Rangitikei Receives Funding for Tourism Facilities

Rangitikei District Council has been successful in its application for funding from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) tourism facility fund. Today it was announced Rangitikei would receive $120,550 from this fund for toilets in Mangaweka Village, Taihape and Hunterville.

Opening of duck Shooting this Weekend

This weekend is the beginning of the duck shooting season. So it’s a timely reminder to ask hunters to apply common sense and adhere to the hunting rules and regulations; treat firearms as loaded; and always identify your target. There are rules around shooting on Council land so all signage should be adhered to. The season runs for three months.

Support for De-sexing Dangerous Dogs in the District

Manawatu and Rangitikei District Councils have obtained government funding for a programme offering free de-sexing to new or unregistered dogs in the district. The programme ran from 24 March – 30 June 2017.
