PIM (Project Information Memorandum)

What is a PIM and do I need one?

PIM stands for Project Information Memorandum. A PIM is a Council generated report on information held about the site of your proposed building project. It would include such information as wind and snow loading zone, whether there are any natural hazards, buried services and other useful information that may impact on the design of your project.

Although not compulsory it is recommended that you obtain a PIM prior to commencing design work, the option for this is included on your Building Consent Application Form.
