UPDATE 2 August 2023

The RDC Roading Team have been working on a temporary solution to make the Swan Street slip safe in the short term. Currently the slip is affecting the safe use of the footpath for all users with dirt, mud and leaf debris causing a slippery and unpredictable surface.

The actual slip repair is a major task and will take some time to rectify.
The long term fix could be complicated due to the restricted site. The next steps to get to a suitable repair will include the following:

  • Geotech testing
  • Determine the most appropriate repair methodology
  • Design the preferred repair option.

In the short term we have completed the following to make the site as safe as possible:

  • The path has been swept of slippery leaf litter-this will be maintained
  • The slip face is being monitored and to date there has been no change
